Privacy Policy
Last updated July 18, 2026
We make lip balm, not a data business. This policy explains what we actually collect, why, and what we do with it — in plain language, because that's how we do everything.
What we collect
Launch list. If you drop your email to hear when the shop opens, we store that email address and use it only to send you Ridgeline updates. Every marketing email we send will include an unsubscribe link, and you can leave the list anytime by emailing us.
Contact form. If you write to us, we receive the name, email address, and message you send, and we use them to reply.
Wholesale accounts. If you apply for a wholesale account, we collect your store name, contact name, email, phone, city and state, your reseller permit number and the state that issued it, and anything you write in the application's notes field, so we can verify and approve your store. Approved stores sign in through our authentication provider (which gives your account an ID we store), and we keep records of your orders — the items, quantities, prices, totals, discounts, order status, and any order notes — to fulfill them and manage your account. Free-text fields store whatever you type in them, so please don't put sensitive information there.
Automatic basics. Like nearly every website, our hosting infrastructure logs standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability. The store-locator map on our Find Us page is served by Mapbox, which receives your IP address when the map loads.
On your device. We use your browser's local storage to remember small things between visits: that you've confirmed your age, what's in your cart, and that you've seen our intro screen. These stay on your device.
Analytics and advertising measurement. On the live site we use Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic — which pages people visit and where visitors come from — and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure whether our social posts and ads actually bring people here. Both use cookies and receive technical data like your IP address and the pages you view; the Meta Pixel shares page-view events with Meta, which handles that data under its own privacy policy. Neither tool receives your name, email, or order details from us. You can block both with your browser's tracking protection or a content-blocking extension, opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, and manage ad preferences in your Meta settings.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not give it to data brokers. Outside the analytics and measurement tools described above, we don't share your information with advertising companies. We do not collect more than the sections above describe.
Service providers
We use a small set of providers to run the site: Vercel (hosting), Cloudflare (domain and DNS), Neon (database), Clerk (wholesale sign-in), and Mapbox (the store-locator map). They process data to provide their services to us, under their own terms and privacy policies. Contact-form messages are also delivered to our inbox through Google's Gmail, so Google processes those messages as our email provider. Google (Analytics) and Meta (Pixel) receive the measurement data described above and use it under their own privacy policies. When our online shop opens, payment processing will be handled by a payment provider — we will never see or store your full card number — and we'll update this policy to name the provider.
Health data and Washington law
Our products are cosmetics. We don't ask for or intentionally collect health information, and we don't use your purchase or browsing history to infer anything about your health. If any information we hold is considered "consumer health data" under Washington's My Health My Data Act or a similar law, then for that data: we collect only what this policy describes, use it only to provide what you asked for, never sell it, and honor the rights those laws give you — including deletion, which you can request at any time using the contact below.
How long we keep things
Launch-list emails: until you unsubscribe. Contact messages: as long as needed to handle your request. Wholesale applications and order records: for the life of the account plus what tax and business-record laws require. Server logs: briefly, per our hosting provider's standard retention.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from emails anytime, and you can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email hello@ridgelinebotanicals.com and we'll handle it — no forms, no runaround. We'll confirm it's really you (usually by matching the email your request comes from), respond within 30 days, and tell you plainly if a law requires us to keep something — like business and tax records. Depending on where you live, these choices may also be legal rights, and we honor them the same way for everyone.
Age
Our products are for adults: you must be at least 18 — or older where your local law sets a higher minimum for hemp products — to purchase. We don't knowingly collect information from minors; if you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant — like naming the payment provider when the shop opens — we'll make it easy to spot.
